gold knew shoot
Fool's gold. We knew we were in for a tussle, the way (the Spartans) can shoot it.
basketball effort game great hard knew loss offensive respect walk
After the effort we gave, it makes it hard (after a game like this). It's hard to walk away with a loss when you give it your all, but we knew who we were playing. We respect them and we know they're a great offensive basketball team. We've got to get better.
came charles free house knew recipe terrific
(St. Charles North) had a terrific recipe for a comeback. They were in the bonus, we were fouling them and they were making their free throws. We knew they weren't going to go away, so to their credit, they came back like a house of fire.
hardly trace tried
We tried to get Shaun involved. In the first half, there was hardly a trace that he even played.
defensive excellent job keeping length looked scoreboard series stops time
Every time I looked at the scoreboard even after a series of defensive stops we were always down by 10 points. Batavia just has so much depth, and they did an excellent job of keeping us at arm's length all night.
defend four game last lost minutes rebound shot won
Everyone will look at the last shot that didn't go for us that would've won it. But we lost the game in the last four minutes when we couldn't defend or get that big rebound to keep them at arm's length.
behind business care guys next opportunity regional regular
We really want to (put this behind us). We want to take care of business in our next two ballgames on our regular schedule. Then we have an opportunity with the regional here for our guys to play on their floor, and that's special.
best ourselves position respect
We have a lot of respect for them, and we know what they have accomplished this year, ... we're going to get at it and put ourselves in as best as a position as we can on (Friday).
behind took
That was an old-fashioned butt-whipping. They took us behind the woodshed and let us have it.
job
That's uncharacteristic of us. We've been doing a better job from the free-throw line.
asked happy kid michael pace task youngest
I was real happy with the way Michael set the pace (of the game). We've asked him to do that for us and he's been getting it done. That's a big task to ask when you're the youngest kid on the floor.
charles dribble drive four game happy heads job last minutes north putting taking terrific
I wasn't happy with the last four minutes of the game (for us). Give St. Charles North credit. They did a terrific job of putting their heads down and getting to the basket. We need to do a better job of taking away dribble drive penetration.
defensive lost mark rebound stop
We couldn't get a stop or a defensive rebound from about the three-and-a-half-to-four-minute mark down, and that's where we lost the game.
ability gates knock punch quarter served several teams
Batavia has the ability to come out of the gates and knock you out. They've served the knockout punch several times in the first quarter and teams haven't been able to counter.
