Vijay is playing beautifully, so he deserves to win. It was a good fight at the end but I just didn't quite get it done.

Well, I've been dealing with it for years so nothing's changed. It is what it is and you just deal with it. Everyone who has had a family member (near death), you're going to deal with it sometime. Unfortunately it's our time right now.

That was a nice little shot because I had to hit it a little easy, a little soft. Actually, it was a perfect 2-iron yardage. But I needed the height there. Either that or it was in the water.

That's what is coming and I've always said this. Guys are going to get bigger, stronger, be more athletic. ... Even if you don't do anything with the golf ball or the clubs and keep everything where it's at, guys are still going to get longer. Guys are going to get bigger, stronger and more athletic over the next generations.

I would love to win it and hope that this year will be my year. The 36-hole match-play format will be good preparation (for the Ryder Cup, which also is match play), and we will all be looking for some confidence.

I wish I was better, certainly wish I was more under par, but that's what it is. I have nine holes to get a score. One shot at a time. It can happen fast. With soft conditions like this you can make some birdies.

It doesn't concern me. You're going to have advances in technology. Guys are bigger, stronger, faster, with added technology. Hence, you're going to hit it farther. Even average golfers have picked up a lot of distance.

It eliminates a lot of guys, yeah. If you hit it low and hit your irons not so high, if you have a flatter ball flight, you're going to be struggling there.

Well, dad wasn't feeling well and it's just the same stuff, just tried to go out there and hopefully make his spirits a little better. Just trying to make him understand that I love him dearly and want him to hang in there and keep fighting, which he always does. He's a very stubborn man, which is good.
