shadow humans human-beings
A human being is only breath and shadow.

It was my care to make my life illustrious not by words more than by deeds.
evening kind knows
You don't know what kind of day you will have, until evening.
arrogance madness turns
For every nation that lives peaceably, there will be many others to grow hard and push their arrogance to extremes; the gods attend to these things slowly. But they attend to those who put off God and turn to madness.
life dream shadow
For this I see, that we, all we that live, Are but vain shadows, unsubstantial dreams.
men shadow breaths
A man is nothing but breath and shadow.
laughter children giving
But whoever gives birth to useless children, what would you say of him except that he has bred sorrows for himself, and furnishes laughter for his enemies.
men might alone-time
Time alone reveals the just man; but you might discern a bad man in a single day.
anger heart stones
You would rouse to anger a heart of stone.
regret hate anger
You clearly hate to yield, but you will regret it when your anger has passed. Such natures are justly the hardest for themselves to bear.
wise men submission-to-god
There is no happiness where there is no wisdom; No wisdom but in submission to the gods. Big words are always punished, And proud men in old age learn to be wise.

Show me the man who keeps his house in hand, He's fit for public authority.
hate arrogance tongue
For God hates utterly the bray of bragging tongues.
friendship honest honest-friends
To throw awayan honest friend is, as it were, to throw your life away.
