I'm going to take this car to (builder) Jerry Haas' shop (near St. Louis) and go through it from the front end to the wheelie bars. There's something wrong in the car. It never does the same thing twice.

I have not heard one way or another whether I'm on or off. Just like everybody else, I'm going out there pitching and hopefully I'll be in Milwaukee on Monday.

It turned out we practically had to rebuild the car. It's a long drive to Las Vegas and I don't think we'll have an opportunity to make a run until Friday.

This just about breaks your heart. This is a piece of history we're never going to replace.
car front full grabbed impact pass sent tire wall
It was just one of those things. When the tire grabbed it sent him into the wall at about a 45-degree angle. The impact tore up the front end pretty good. We hadn't made a full pass on the car yet. We were just working on the car.

The car ran real well at Columbus (Ohio) and Topeka (Kansas). We were No. 2 qualifier at Topeka and went to the finals there. We just haven't been as competitive since we hurt the motor at Chicago.
