Takeo Gerard Spikesis a former American football linebacker who played in the National Football League. He played college football for Auburn University. He was drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals 13th overall in the 1998 NFL Draft. The way this past season ended, we felt there was a lot of unfinished business we needed to take care of and it started with this first game. We were very eager to just go out and show everybody that there was not going to be a drop-off and to prove to ourselves that in order to get to where we want to go this is the first step that needed to be taken.

Once you have an offense down like that, in order to be a great defense (you) don't let up, don't take the foot off the pedal. We're definitely not feeling sorry for anybody. You should have prepared better.

I thought about staying for probably two or three seconds after they hired Marvin Lewis , ... But the biggest thing to me is that they're not just a coach away from winning. They're not like one or two players away. It's something that's going to take a process, and that process will take three or four years. And three or four years to me is my eighth and ninth years in the league. Who knows? I may not even be playing at that point. I didn't want to take that chance.

I guess they felt they had to get their money's worth out of us. It was good work, a good change of pace. You get tired of beating up on each other, so this was great to come out here and get some work against Green Bay.

I like our chances better than anybody in the league knowing that you're coming out at home again playing with the 12th man in the stadium. Special teams, defensively, offensively, we feel like we have a lot of things to prove.
