brother coming extra far help older though winning
Of course, he's had a lot of things that haven't went his way as far as the season, as far as him coming back to New York. They're not really winning as many games, but I can be a big brother to him even though he's a day older than me. I can be a big brother and help him get those extra victories.
everybody game games hungry streak win
This should have been a game where everybody was hungry to win. It was at home. We had a streak going. Not just for the streak, but for us -- to show that we've matured, that we should be able to win games that we should win.
effort finish great helped hitting job late rose run stepping team tonight total win
Tonight we were just able to finish things off late in the game. They made their run and I thought we responded well. Malik Rose did a great job stepping up and hitting big shots. I thought it was a total team effort that helped us win the game.
gain games push win
We'll have opportunities to push the ball, and other times when we'll have to set up. What we need to do is try to win some games and try to gain confidence.
counter good people win
They had a lot of people injured, so they had to try and play with a lot of different lineups. We were able to counter everything they did. It was a good win ... a well-needed win.
crucial errors game guess lack mental needed stops time victory
It was tough. We made a lot of mental errors at the end of the game that kind of solidified the victory for them. On the other hand, we didn't get stops when we really needed it. I guess it was a lack of communication. I'm not really sure. It was at a crucial time in the game.
beat envisioned free obviously throw
It was tough, man. I thought I had him. But I beat (him) to the spot. I envisioned myself going to the free throw line. Obviously they (the officials) didn't see it that way.
certain cool daughter feeling man perform
Everything is cool at my house. My daughter wasn't feeling well. As a man you have to do certain things and still be able to perform at your job.
ball elton looked sam shot
Sam and Elton shot the ball great. And for us, it just looked like we didn't have a lot of energy. We didn't play with urgency.
giving respect time
Every time I get the ball, I get double-teamed. I respect the defense. I'm giving it up.
besides feels mother passing three top
Besides my mother passing away when I was 18, this is in the top three (worst times of his life,). It's like a funeral, that's what it feels like.
ask bench calling coach coming ford helping herb phil stuff understand williams
Sometimes coach is calling stuff and I don't understand some of the things he's calling. I ask Phil Ford or Herb Williams just to give me some insight, so I think coming off the bench has really been helping me.
ball considered defend difficult explosive face great hand love player shot time
Don't get me wrong, I love Gil's game, but if I shot the ball every time down on offense, I'd be considered explosive as well. He's a great player so you have to get a hand in his face and you have to make him defend on the other end of the court. We made it difficult for him tonight.
guys loaded missed three tried
That was the play we called; I just missed the shot. It was a play we tried to get going to the basket, but they had like two or three guys loaded up over there and all the guys were covered, so I put it up.
