What the Veterans of Peace group wants to do is come in and basically, through an open forum, promote their cause. This is not an open forum setting for those types of discussions.

We understand families need to work on getting their lives together. If we can begin to provide some sense of normalcy in their children's lives, we should do that.

Corporal punishment is prohibited, but it's not a blanket policy that prohibits an employee from ever touching a student. There are situations when an employee may have to intervene physically in situations such as student fights.

We don't think he deserves his job back because of his conduct in the classroom. He was found not guilty on criminal charges, but our threshold is much lower in just demonstrating that he exhibited inappropriate conduct.
