It's up to the prime minister first of all to get in contact with the president to get the ball rolling.
This party will not take its position based o-n public opinion polls. We will not take a stand based o-n focus groups. We will not take a stand based o-n phone-in shows or householder surveys or any other vagaries of pubic opinion.
This minister and this government had 12 years to complete these reviews. Their time is done,
It is usual for that position to be held by someone who is close to the government.
It is the Canadian people we get our mandate from, not the ambassador of the United States.
