convincing morning shows tale test tricky
Statistically it's convincing enough, but I think the tale of the Test shows that it was really about the morning sessions, about the new ball, about getting through that tricky period.
finish good improvement playing series six test tests third west
We need an improvement in the third Test (against the West Indies), and if we finish playing six Tests still improving, then it's going to be a good series in the Republic.
cape fit hope second test
We hope he will be fit for the second Test in Cape Town.
days delighted emotional far front played terms tests throughout tight
It was tight throughout the four-and-a-half days so we're delighted to come away with the win. It was one of the most emotional Tests I've played in terms of not being able to get in front or not getting too far behind.
africa against contest desperate expecting hard hunger losing measure ourselves results series south won
We're expecting a very hard conTest ? South Africa will be desperate for a series win, after losing to Australia. We have never won a series against South Africa, and we have a real hunger for this series. We want to measure ourselves in South Africa, where our results have always been poor.
player trend
The other trend has been for the player to get injured.
areas forward good innings moving runs shape touch
We're in pretty good shape moving forward but I think we have got to get better still. There are some areas we need to touch up - we probably need 10 runs or so more each innings and more strike-power when we bowl.
cover players playing reason
We have players who are playing well and can cover up for him. If he is dropped, it would be for tactical reason and not form.
bit felt five good points team
It felt really good. I was back to my best. The team has been a bit up and down but it was good to get five points and back in the mix.
behind good great scenes sure
Mick is a very good manager. He is great behind the scenes with the players, making sure everything is in place,
flawed good rule super toss winning
Winning the toss is a good start. As we know, the super sub rule is a flawed rule and we have to make the most of it.
below good par played prospects winning
We played below par today, but I still feel good about the prospects of winning the tournament.
cup exciting flow good news rugby success
Well, it would be exciting news if it does come off. It would be particularly good for New Zealanders, and will flow on from the Rugby World Cup success - so it was exciting to hear.
box days feeling felt gut match next played three
We could have played 11 each but we felt it was too messy. We've got three days now (till the next match in Queenstown on Wednesday) to see how we feel, but my gut feeling is we'll box on and play it out. But we'll see what happens.
