batting close good last next playing practice progress swinging
Batting practice is next on his agenda. But he's swinging well and making good progress in the last 48 hours. He's close to playing in a game.
evaluate factor problems timetable
This was all his idea. When he left, he had no problems with the knee, but we will evaluate it tomorrow. This does not, in my mind, factor into when he will play in a game, and we do not have a timetable on that.
concern muscle next time
There is some inflammation in the muscle and it is his push-off leg, so that's a concern any time for a pitcher, ... We'll know more in the next day or so.
almost fairly groin guarantee impossible left today
Moises has a left groin pull, fairly significant. It's not minor. We're listing him as day-to-day because it's almost impossible to know when he'll return. But I can guarantee it's not today or tomorrow.
obviously
It doesn't look all that bad, but obviously he's out of the lineup.
based feels
I think he can make it based on what he's done. If he feels comfortable, I feel comfortable.
expect game missed spring training whether
I think we're going to take one day at a time. I think that if he does what we expect him to do this year, no one's going to look back and say whether he missed a spring training game or not.
gone good looked pleased
Overall, we're just real pleased with how this has gone so far. He looked good and has looked good for a while.
fairly himself tells
For Moises to take himself out the lineup tells you it's a fairly significant injury.
If this were a regular-season game, he could probably play.
afford anticipate battling regular season week
He's been battling it for a week to 10 days. We don't anticipate it being a big issue. If this was the regular season you wouldn't even know about it. With an off-day and everything, we could afford to give him some rest.
expect full gone hoping medication morning motion swelling turn
He was put on anti-inflammatory medication and this morning he is much, much, much improved. . . . The swelling was completely gone and he had full motion and no pain. I really didn't expect it to turn around that quickly, but that's what we were hoping for.
fact morning regular today
He was put on anti-inflammatory medication, and this morning he is much, much, much improved, and in fact probably could play today if this were the regular season.
came decided gave healing respond
He didn't respond the way we thought he was going to. We gave him an injection that didn't make a difference. He came in (Thursday) and he couldn't do anything comfortably. We decided to give him some healing time.
