antique antiques art assess aunt both eric frequent garage identify introduce loves people sales shops talked teaching value visit
Eric loves to visit antique shops and I do too. It's always been a love for both of us and his aunt was an antique dealer. We've always talked about doing something with antiques and teaching people to identify what they have and so I said, 'let's go for it!' It's also to introduce people to the art of being able to assess what it is that you have. People go out and frequent these garage sales and the antique shops and sometimes they just see something that's pretty, but they have no idea what the value is.
books books-and-reading help intent people view
People got to network. People got to view some of the books that we have, which is our intent - for them to know what we have that will help them in their assessments and appraisals of their items.
amazed family given great handed items people stories successful value
We've had people completely amazed at what they had. They did not know they had something of great value - items that were given to them, items that had been handed down through family and so we've had some very successful stories that we have out of our event.
along books bring company insurance items ours particular people theirs tools value
They take in items and they have to have some idea of what the value of it is for insurance purposes. People like Finder's Keepers (a company specializing in antiques) - they bring along their tools too, they have particular books they use to asses the value of something so they will bring theirs and we will have ours out - so it's the combination of the two.
