difficult extremely knew played satisfied team today
I knew it was going to be an extremely difficult day for me today. This team is extremely satisfied with the way they played today and for myself, it's that much of a better moment, for sure.
came couple knew liked missed playing position shots
We would've liked to have won, but we knew we were just playing for position when we came in. It was one of those games, we had a couple of shots we missed that we probably should have made.
ahead bit couple everybody knew lost medals news nights realized sat second win
We sat down a couple of nights ago, after we lost our second game, to Italy. We were disappointed with the loss, but one encouraging bit of news was that we knew we still had to play everybody who was ahead of us in the standings. We realized if we would win out, we'd get to the medals round..
beat building confidence continued everybody good knew moment playing
We beat Sweden, and we started playing really well. We knew we had to play a lot of good games. Everybody got a lot of confidence from that game, and that confidence has just continued building from that moment on.
coming confident definitely everybody expecting ok
Everybody was not expecting us to do well here. But we were pretty confident coming in that we could be contenders. We were definitely OK with coming in here and not being the No. 1 favorites.
everybody expecting
Everybody was not expecting us to do well here.
carry dream medal olympics picture stand
It was a dream of hers, just like it was a dream of mine, for me to make the Olympics and potentially medal. I carry a picture of her all the time. She'll be on the medal stand with me, if we get up there.
date dream hers incentive instantly medals olympics recognized
I instantly recognized the date of the medals game. It was incentive to me. It was a dream of hers to get to the Olympics as much as it was a dream of mine.
came definitely dream emotions explain gone hard hits last olympic range saturday
I've gone through such a range of emotions in the last 45 minutes, it's definitely hard to even explain what I've gone through. Saturday will be the big day when it really hits for me, when I'm up on the podium getting the medals. It's any athlete's dream to make the Olympic team. It's only that much better to say that you came out with a medal.
beat game good
They are going to want to beat us as much as we want to beat them. If we go out and play a good game together, we can win.
coming either gamble game line point points steal tied
We had to kind of gamble a little, to try to steal a point or points from them. We kind of put the game on the line going into that end. We were either going to steal a point and be tied coming home, or give them the game there in the ninth.
medal
The way the standings are looking, we still think 6-3 is into the medal round, for sure.
canadian curl european gets ice less normal pick reasonably room
Normally, European ice is straight, and Canadian ice gets a real big curl. A 4- or 5-foot curl is normal up there. When the ice is straighter, there's less room for error. If we had to pick between the two, we'd take Canadian ice, but were reasonably comfortable with the ice here.
absolutely count fan matter stop
She was a fan you could always count on that would always be in the stands, no matter what. She was absolutely going to be there. She was not going to have anything stop her.
