It goes back 2 or 3 years when we began to see quite a large growth in our event business including meetings, conferences and banquets. Our whole business grew quite dramatically over the past couple of years and we felt we were running out of space.

We wanted to not just add just typical meeting rooms, or a replica of what was already in the hotel or even other hotels. We thought about what we could bring to the hotel that was functional and unique. That's when we began to build the idea of the grand residence.

We wanted to provide the kitchen as the hub of the space, sort of like in an old house. Everything surrounds the kitchen in the home and we wanted it to be the center of everything here in the residence.

In most meetings that you attend you don't remember where you were. At the end of the day, our guests don't just remember the content of the meeting, but also where they were that day. We want the customer to acknowledge that they had a very different experience and that experience was the grand residence.
