finish hold needed race together
I couldn't hold it together mentally. I couldn't finish the race the way I needed to physically.
beautiful best proud race skated today
He skated a beautiful race. He was the best today ... I am very proud of him, he's a champion.
ask best chad focused opportunity people pursuit race run team win
I'm not a team player. The team pursuit was the race before the 1000 meters, so it's silly. People do what's best for them. I had the opportunity to win the 1,000 meters and I was focused on that. You have to ask Chad Hedrick if he would have run the team pursuit if it was the day before the 5,000 meters.
happy race trained
I'm just just happy about my race. More than anything, the things that I've trained for, I was right about.
race ice track
I can be really fast, but other people are in the race. So you've got to be able to maneuver around those guys, and you have to be a little more versatile out there on the ice. I bring my fitness that I gained from the long track over to here. Hopefully, I'll be able to put it to good use.
great hard medal olympic reward sleep work
I always wanted to be on the Olympic medal dias. It's a great feeling. It's a reward for all the hard work I have done, I don't think I will have any sleep tonight.
bald channel discovery eagle loves people protect whatever
No one loves you more than your mother. It's like on the Discovery Channel where you see a bald eagle do everything it can to protect its young. People can say whatever they want, but it's a sticks-and-stones thing.
advantage last opportunity pair upset
I am upset because I didn't take advantage of the opportunity of being in the last pair and being able to really go for it.
accomplish best chad dream individual respect
I have a lot of respect for Chad. I want to see Chad do well. We're competitive but it's not about being competitive with Chad right now. It's just going out there and doing the best that you can as an individual and being able to accomplish the dream that you set.
age chad expect feelings fighting hard normal respect
I have a lot of respect for Chad. For someone to come over (from in-line skating) and do what he's done for the sport is unfathomable. You wouldn't expect someone to be so versatile, especially at his age (28). I want to see Chad do well. But we're all fighting for the same thing. It's normal to have hard feelings sometimes.
hand shakes typical
Shakes my hand when I lose. Typical Chad.
rooting
I'm still rooting for him. He is an American.
handle respect
I respect her and, honestly, if she wasn't the way she was, I wouldn't be able to handle some of the things that I go through with the sport.
last man standing
Last man standing -- that's what it is.
