The team tried to tell him not to show it (in his) face. I think he did it for a second. But eventually, he calmed down.
football jersey support team win
We support our football team every game. We want them to win because they've got 'Duke' on their jersey so that's like our brother.
coming confidence fortunate games gives lost team
We were fortunate we lost those two games because it put us in this (improved) mindset. This gives us the confidence that we can be the team we want to be coming into the (NCAA) tournament.
games great happening happy learn surprising team win
It's surprising that's happening to them. They're probably happy it's happening to them right now, you know, so they can learn from it. But that's a great team and they're going to win a lot of games this year.
athletic played team year
They probably were the most athletic team we've played this year by far.
ball gets guy hitting knows open selfish teammates
J.J.'s not a guy who's a selfish player. He knows that if he's not hitting his shot, he gets the ball to his teammates like me tonight. I was open and hit some shots.
beats defense help knew man teammate together year
Our defense was great. We were together on every play. If a man beats us, we knew a teammate could help us out, and that's the way we want to play all year round.
athletic team
That's as athletic a team as I've seen.
great overlook people team
If people overlook me -- oh, well. My team and my coach, that's my family, and they know what I'm doing. That's a great feeling.
minds stop turned
We just turned up the heat. We put it in our minds that we were going to stop them, and that's what we did.
determined final knew maturity needed six stops talked
We just showed a lot of maturity down the stretch. We executed everything well in the final six minutes. We were determined not to fail. We talked about it in the huddle during timeouts. We knew we had to get some stops and make some big buckets, and that's what we did. We did it when we really needed to tonight.
cheering dunk guys high jump none seen shots
I've seen J.J. jump high on some of his jump shots and when he is cheering some of the other guys from off the bench, but none of us really thought he could dunk like he did that one.
carries determination hear missing practice shot starts stories watched year
I've watched him get better every year firsthand. It all starts at practice for him and he carries that same determination into games. Those stories you hear about him not missing a shot in practice? Well, I'm here to tell you they're true.
everybody good lose reasons
It was wonderful. We (the seniors) didn't want to lose to them again, especially here at home. One of the reasons why we feel so good right now is everybody chipped in some way.
