ahead ball behind count game shows struggles successful throw
It just shows for me to be successful I have to get ahead on the count. A lot of the struggles I had in this game were from being behind on the count and having to throw the ball down the middle.
best spring start whatever
I like my chances. I'll do whatever is best for the team. I'd like to start. I'd like to think what I've done in the spring validates me to start for a while.
affected bothered knock late running
It's never bothered me. It's never affected my running. It's never affected how late I can go into the game. Then again, I'm still 22. So in 10 years it probably would affect my running and throwing, so I'd just like to knock it out now.
explain lost strike
I just completely lost the strike zone. I don't know how to explain it. I don't know what happened.
ball bit explain lost rather strike trusting trying
I just completely lost the strike zone. I don't how to explain it. As much as you would say it doesn't get in your head, it probably does. It is a little bit of trying to place the ball rather than trusting your stuff.
best couple everybody last open throwing whatever
I'm open to anything. Whatever they think is best for me is probably going to be best for me. They know what they're doing. Everybody has been throwing well. It's going to be going down to the last couple of games, I guess.
best experience factor mean player proven
We all think we can win. We think the experience factor is very overrated. Just because you're not a proven big-league player doesn't mean you can't play the game. We have to go out and play our best every day to win, we know that.
calling people pitch since
I've wanted to pitch here since I was 5 years old. I have people calling all the time.
best controlled counting felt pitches spring
This is the best I felt this year, by far. I thought I controlled all my pitches the best I have all year, counting spring training.
arm feels last point problem walk
A four-pitch walk with two outs in the first inning. That's the only problem there was. My arm feels better now than it did at any point last year.
limiting quitting six whenever
Quitting is a process. It's gradual. I'm limiting it to six a day after meals, before you go to bed, whenever you get up.
ball bit instead throwing trying
As much as you would like to say it doesn't get in your head, it probably does. It's a little bit of trying to place the ball instead of throwing through the catcher.
bullpen club couple gone guys mind nice perform spring training
It's nice to know I'll be on the club with all the guys I've gone through spring training with. Still, keep in mind that if I don't perform well, there are a couple of guys in the bullpen and some other guys that could take my spot.
career hire might though
They told the new hire that even though he might have a contract, his career there was over.
