There's no reason for anybody to jump out of bushes to take pictures of me. I'm not doing anything exciting.

I feel like I really tapped into a pretty honest emotional place for myself as a lyricist. There's a broad spectrum of emotions.
When I sing, it's just... comfort is a stupid word, but it is.

add bunch listen moments music played playing stop stronger
When you're making music or playing a song, I find the moments when there are no instruments being played even stronger than when they are being played. Because they add tension. I'm from Washington state - a pretty small town there called Puyallup. I was really into the arts there. I sang in choirs and did singing competitions. beauty disneyland great initially job princess whim wound year
I initially got a job at Disneyland through a friend who was working there. He said, 'You would make a great princess there,' and that I should audition. So I just went on a whim to audition, and I wound up getting a job as Belle, from 'Beauty and the Beast,' at Disneyland. I did that for about a year and a half.

I think you are taken more seriously as a young adult when you are on a film set and you are doing a job and people expect something from you. Is that losing my youth? Not at all. I had a fantastic childhood.
