beginnings endings middle remember scary
Beginnings are usually scary and endings are usually sad, but its the middle that counts. You have to remember this when you find yourself at the beginning.
full realize year
I didn't realize this year was going to be as full as it was, ... I'm tired.
I just want to go do this thing and go home.
failed films love
In people's minds, I had failed and was on the outs, so I was able to go back and concentrate on making the films I love to do.
personally
If you went to go see 'Why You Were Sleeping' or anything else, you wouldn't necessarily think that's me. Those who know me personally would say (Sarah) is me. 'Cause that is more me,
fell figured last normally redeem time walked
The last time I was here I fell into the premiere, and I figured I had to redeem myself, ... I thought if I walked in normally this time it would make up for it.
numbers magic events
There's no magic numbers in birthdays in my life, there are no milestones, there's no event. Every birthday has to be celebrated to its fullest, even if it's with one person or with 20.
hate looks actors
When you're an actor, seeing yourself for the first time, you spend all your time just watching yourself and hating yourself and picking your performance apart. You say, "I look horrible. I should quit."
nice world doe
We don't trust anyone who does anything nice. That's just the sad world we live in.
responsibility helping road-less-traveled
I feel a huge responsibility to anyone who's younger than me, in helping them take the road less traveled, or finding no road at all and blazing a new trail.
beautiful girl years
I was never the kind of girl who said, "One day, I am going to be a beautiful bride, and I am going to have a family." I wanted to work and support myself and make my parents proud. All I did was work. I did three or four films a year, and felt like I was on a treadmill. Finally I said, "Nothing is exciting to me anymore." So I took six months off, which turned into a year, and said, "God, I don't miss it." That's when all kinds of interesting things crossed my path.
believe choices carving
I do believe in choice, the freedom of choice and carving out your own happiness.
one-day wow never-quit
You never quite know what the change is until, one day, you wake up and go, "Wow, I'm reacting to things differently and I feel differently."
thinking play together
If you're gonna tell a story from beginning to end, I always think you have to have a great structure in a script. If it gets you excited and it's something you've never read before that's another plus. I think also with improv and that whole world of stand-up, that's a whole other organism of comedy that still needs a story, but it's more free-form. On the set, it is the combination of both those worlds coming together: a great script and an allowance to play with it.
