against baseball fight good playing team
It's got to happen, ... We've been scuffling a little bit. When you come here and play against a team that's playing good baseball and fight for it and win, it's a good feeling.
bad breaks kids quicker resolve shocked
It really shocked (me) and breaks my heart. The quicker we can resolve this problem, which is bad for kids (the better).
against believe hit reminded
At first I thought sixty-one was something special. The sixty-one was something that reminded me of Mark. He hit sixty-one and sixty-two against us. Then I got sixty-two. It was something unbelievable. I couldn't believe what I was doing. I couldn't believe what was happening.
both break breaking chances thinking
You never know what can happen. We both have a lot of chances to break it. I'm not thinking about breaking it.

This is our time. This is our chance to win the division.

difficult feet hitter pain played problem talk troubling year
My problem has been my feet and that's difficult for any hitter to overcome. I've played with a lot of pain this year but I haven't told anybody. It's not an excuse. But it has hurt. I have to talk now because it's been troubling me.

I'm not thinking about that, but I'm not going to lie to you - I'm having a good time.

I didn't have the season that I wanted to have because I changed leagues and had a lot of adjustments to make, ... I know that's not an excuse.
beautiful course
If I'm available, of course I'm going to play, ... I know how to play. I know it has not been one of the more beautiful years I've had in my career. You have to keep fighting.

I'm not going to Japan, ... I don't need to go to Japan. I want to play here and get 600 home runs. Next year I know I will be better.
deal everybody game happening hard league played tough work
I'm not frustrated. I go out there and try to do the things that I have to do every day, work hard at everything. I'm in a different league and everybody who's played this game sometimes has got to go through tough times, and now it's happening to me. So I've got to deal with it.
mark passing season september thinking
I'm not even thinking about passing McGwire. The season will be over September twenty-seventh. Mark will go home, and I will go to the playoffs.
