anybody pitching spring
I'm not about freaking pitching around anybody in spring training,
goes spring time
He impresses me every time he goes out there. Obviously, I didn't get to see him much in Seattle, but every day of spring I've been impressed.
believe testing
The testing has to be flawed. ...I don't believe it.
definitely game pitches teams throw
Teams are different, but it all comes down to being able to throw your second-, third- and fourth-best pitches for strikes, ... My game is getting them to put it in play, and I can definitely take it into other games.
confidence guy knows loves reason stuck total
Every guy loves to have someone back there who knows what he's doing and has total confidence in his game-calling. That's what he have with Sal. There's a reason he's stuck around so long.
adrenaline coming
You get more adrenaline coming out of the bullpen. It's going to be a challenge.
body realized sharp
I could tell I wasn't as sharp as I had been. I don't think I realized how my body works.
game nobody playing quit season thinking win
Nobody wanted a season like this, but nobody's quit playing hard. We all want to win every game we can, we all come out here thinking we can win every day.
felt good great pitches pitching short slider
I felt great out there. My pitches did what I wanted them to do. My slider and changeup were about as good as they have been. I didn't feel like I was pitching on short rest.
bad excuse
I've got no excuses. I made a bad pitch.
bad bullpen case great held job turn year
It's not going to turn out that way many times. All year long when we've had a four-run lead, the bullpen has held it. The 'pen has done a great job all year. This was just a case of bad timing.
might treat trying
I treat (pitchers) like non-hitters. I might have been trying to back off a little bit. From now on, I'll treat 'em like a .300 hitter.
gave good hit job ready tried
I tried to quick-pitch him. I thought it was the right thing to do. All the times I've done it, I think I gave up one hit. But he did a good job getting ready to hit the ball.
few good great middle remember
They've got a great middle part of their order, ... I remember a few years ago when they just got in the league, and they've all improved. They're good hitters.
