I think that is the biggest selling point for me, the city and the people in the organization. Also the steps they have taken, not only bring guys in but everybody they have brought in has been quality people. It's fun to be part of something like that.
Going home and just seeing what a mess youth baseball was was an eye-opener. I just want to make it a better game.
Our bullpen has been unbelievable. It's a big difference from where we were. I'm able to come out after five innings and the pen picks me up with four innings.
Physically I felt good. That's always a good thing early on, having the health there. Then you got to work on executing.
Physically, I felt good. So that's always a good thing early on -- having the health there. The cutter was kind of hit or miss today, so there's still a couple things to work on. Obviously, you would like to start better, but I got my work in.
Half an inch either way, it's a base hit,
He does a nice job, sets up well. He's fun to work with because he wants to make adjustments for the pitchers, do what you'd like to do and make adjustments for you. It's nice having a catcher like that who receives the ball well so it's going to be fun.
That doesn't bother me, someone who has pitched the whole season should win it, not someone who pitched for three months,
Anytime you do something different, a lot of attention gets put on it.
Any time we did any of those running exercises, it was obviously the toughest part for me. Simulated games later on got a little tough.
That's always been a question for debate. I think pitchers never like to go back-to-back facing teams but that hitters sometimes feel like they have a better idea of what they're going to see.
I had some time off to rest and haven't had any problems ever since then. It's kind of disappeared this winter so that's nice.
They hung in there, they played well and the mistakes I made, they hit. Some days you get away with it. Today wasn't one of those days.
They've got a tough lineup. They make you work, regardless of what the score is. It just seems like they have long at-bats, somehow they get on base and it's one of those games where I was pitching out of a lot of jams.
