Basketball is a game of runs. We knew that when we were down 15, it was far from over. Everybody was just trying to leave it all on the floor.

We still have four regular-season games and we're trying to move up from the bottom of the West.
beginning good half ourselves second stretch sync time
We got out of sync for a good stretch of the time in the first half and the beginning of the second half and put ourselves in a hole.
came coach good half halftime played second team yelled
We came out lackadaisical in the first half, but coach yelled at us at halftime and got us going. We came out in the second half and played as a team and got good results.
freshmen happy knew playing somebody year
Having all those freshmen at one time, I knew before the year even started that somebody was going to leave. I didn't know who it would be, but somebody wasn't going to be happy with playing time.
boards drove everybody except frank
Frank drove and everybody went to the boards except me. We didn't want to give them another chance.
leader senior
I got to come back and be the senior leader for these young guys.
came energy late ourselves pick synch
We put ourselves in a hole. We came out with a lot of energy but we got out of synch and it was too late to pick it back up.
couple easy late next
They went down and got a couple of easy baskets and the next thing we knew, it was too late to get back in the game.
came coach game instead pick step together
All of us came together and said we were going to pick him up. Coach told us before the game we'd have to step it up and pick him up. Instead of one person doing it, we did it as a team.
offense problems setting
Back then, we were like two different teams. We weren't setting screens. We weren't executing. Our offense was having problems.

I'll just tell them to keep their head up and come back the next game.
guy hitting kept three throw waiting
They kept hitting three after three. We were pressing them and they'd throw (the ball) long and they'd have a guy waiting in the corner. Those were emotion-breakers. Daggers.
crunch free hit knocked throws
They just knocked down threes and hit their free throws in crunch time.
