We need two points at this point of the year. One point is not going to cut it anymore.
Everybody's aware of where we're at and how many points behind. We know we can't falter anymore at this point of the year.
This is the way we went to keep playing. We want to keep getting the key goals and put the points on the board. That's how we're going to make the playoffs.
The guys played a great game for 65 minutes. It's nice to get rewarded with two points at the end of the day.
The worst part is he fanned on the shot. It's frustrating. I committed when he faked the slap shot and then I was in a desperate place. Stuff like that happens though.
There's something about it. We know when we step on the ice now that we're expecting to win, as opposed to on the road (where) we're more tentative. It makes a big difference.
We had some breakdowns. It was a tough game to be a part of.
I've already done it two weeks ago for the Olympics. It is a good thing. You want to make sure everybody's healthy and clean. There's no need for anybody to be on any sort of substance.
Every game right now for us is huge. It's fun.
From my standpoint it's disappointing. I think I could have played a little better.
First and foremost, we've been playing well defensively. The number of scoring chances are much lesser than the previous years I've been here.
It's one of my weak points, coming into a game when I didn't plan on it. But I don't think I did too badly.
It started out a little innocently, a couple bad bounces here or there and then guys started losing their confidence, including myself and it just escalated to bigger and bigger things. And then we got to the end of the games and guys were nervous. When you're in those kinds of situations and you don't have the confidence to do the job, most of the time it's not going to turn out your way.
It's huge. Guys are aware that this is probably the most important stretch for our team this year. ... We definitely wanted to get off to a good start tonight and have a good week.
