The team has never been ranked before. The coaches and athletes are thrilled. It's a testament to the kids who have put in the miles.
couple foundation hope kids next peak speed strong transition work
We haven't done any speed work yet, so the next couple weeks, we'll transition into speed work. The hope is that with the strong foundation their peak will be even higher. We want to keep the kids healthy.

It was a great day for all of our kids to get together in a meet. They showed a lot of encouraging results. It was nice to dust of some of the rust. You can expect rust when you have 4 feet of snow on the ground.

It was fantastic to have a meet at our own track. It was great to have Aspen and Eagle Valley over and have a local meet. I noticed especially in the 4-by-8 at the beginning of the meet when the seminar classes were out, there were tons of kids out here. They definitely ran faster with the kids out. It's neat to have a home track advantage.

He was the hero of the day. We were battling Montrose for second or third place, and Jake passed two Montrose kids in the last 50 meters to make a huge swing in the points totals. Last year he was our 7th runner or top JV running, so he's really stepped up and filled the gap.

We will work hard, and if they are a little tired for the Leadville race, that'll be fine.

The times are faster there, so it's hard to compare times course to course.

Erika had a breakthrough race. October is the month when she flips on the switch. Molly is getting back into the form we know she can run.

Five of the top 10 teams in the Southwest region will be there. We will use this as a measuring bar.

The teams ahead of them in the poll were not there, so they know they have their work cut out of them. They have two months of hard work ahead of them. They can't relax, and they aren't going to be content with their performance (Thursday).
afar impressive soccer true
Connor is a true competitor. I've been able to see him from afar in soccer and basketball. But it was pretty impressive to see it up close.

That was a very courageous effort, considering the circumstances.

I was really pleased with that considering we raced all 5A teams.

We knew she had an impressive resume when she transferred form California, but we didn't expect this.
