There's truth in every religion I, I, Christians believe there's truth in every religion. But we just believe there is one saviour. We believe we can learn truth from, I believe I've have learned a lot of truth from different religions. Because they all have a portion of the truth. I just believe there's one saviour Jesus Christ.
You can keep your own religion - Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Mormonism - you just need to add Jesus to the equation. Then you become complete. You become a Buddhist with Jesus, a Hindu with Jesus, a Muslim with Jesus and so on. You can throw out the term Christianity and still be a follower of Jesus. What it means to be a follower of Jesus Christ - give as much of yourself as you understand to as much of Jesus as you understand at that moment...
Mother Teresa once said, "Holy living consists in doing God's work with a smile." ... The last thing many believers need is to go to another Bible study.
I happen to agree with many of the liberal emphasis on compassion, justice and equality. I just disagree that it's the government's role to provide everything.
If you talked to others the way you talk to yourself, would you have any friends?
I believe that the purpose of influence is to speak up for those who have no influence. And fame is not for our own benefit, or notoriety is not for our own benefit, it's for leverage to do good.
AIDS is the leprosy of the 21st Century. Where did Jesus hang out? With lepers. Jesus would love on people with AIDS.
Ministry is received, not achieved.
The antidote to the lust of the flesh is integrity.
I added up all the money the church paid me for the first 25 years and gave it all back.
We had one rule which was 'whatever you are feeling, that's okay'
