Our guys had to grow up a lot. That's part of the whole business of starting four new guys back there. We laid the challenge down to those guys and I'm proud of them.

Our intent is to protect crime victims who are in imminent danger of losing their lives. This does not put more guns on the street. This will not create the OK Corral.

The first phone call I got offering a safe haven was from Larry Hays, and that meant a lot. When you have somebody step up like this administration, and this coaching staff, who puts you in a position where kids feel like 'We're going to be OK,' and you can see it on their on faces. It means a lot and will continue to mean a lot in a way that will probably be tough to be able to explain to people to people who don't understand what we've gone through the last week and a half.
