This was a big win in terms of the district, but it's a big win any time you beat a good quality team on their home court. We had a nice fourth quarter and we hit a lot of free-throws at the end ... and you know, this is what high school basketball is all about. The crowd was into it and it was close all the way through, and it was just a great ball game.

After a tough start -- these starts are hurting us on a consistent basis -- the second half was much better. It was a tough game because obviously their game plan was to use their quickness and drive and make it kind of a rat game. It was a good game plan. They had us on our heels.

I know what they're going through. It's a difficult situation. It looks good on paper, but it doesn't always work that way. When they made the deal, I thought they were going to be more athletic. They scare me to death because they have talent. Who knows, they can win one or two games and then win five or six in a row. That's what happened to us.

The situation with his hip is very positive. He has a lingering Achilles (tendon) problem from last year. He has been taking treatment on it the last couple of months. I think his timetable to play at 100 percent is going to be a little further down the line.

Ever since the anonymous letter came out we have welcomed any and all testing. We feel very confident that the testing will show that we meet all codes and criteria.

Schools that do not currently meet this standard will be spending more dollars on items like classroom computers and technology, science lab equipment, books and instructional materials or even higher teacher salaries.

I've always told Kenton that he sells himself short. He's a much better basketball player than he thinks he is. He's got a great pace to his game. You're not going to speed him up much. He's really embraced the fact that he wants to run the team. He's comfortable now. He knows his teammates. He knows what we need to work our way into.
