We had a hard time running our offense. They remind me a lot of Reno (which shut Carson down twice this year) - our kids had the same expression on their faces against Reno.

Douglas came out fired up and we couldn't meet their energy level. Nicole had two fouls early and we sent her to the bench. And we struggled with their 1-3-1 (defensive scheme).

We played the No. 1 seed (in the High Desert League) and we were the No. 2 seed (in the Sierra League). We weren't able to knock off No. 1 because they played like No. 1. They are well coached, they have talent, and they have played together as a team for quite a while. They showed that they are a true team.

We're working on getting it to our big people. (Six-foot-two center) Nicole (Scott) hasn't been getting touches. That's been our emphasis at practice.

That was major for us. That's why we fought so hard to get the number two seed (out of the Sierra League). We didn't want to go on the road.

I thought Megan really worked hard. She's trying to get minutes. She's done a good job toward that goal. She was all over the court and she showed leadership.

We've got to go back to the gym right away (today). We didn't practice our offensive sets enough. That was a coaching error. We worked more on our defense than our offense and it showed.

It was a quiet bus ride all the way (to Reno). It wasn't like these girls that I've come to know. It worried me. They seemed to be...lifeless. With this group, we need to play with energy.
