You don't judge a team by its record, but its heart and tenacity, two things you either have or you don't have,
When you get the juices going, when you're in the moment, ... it's very hard to calm down.
When you hit a home run in that situation, it is gratifying, ... Then when you hit home plate, then you've forgotten about it and you've got to move forward. So it's a lot of fun, but we've still got a long way to go.
We're going to try to change our game plan a little bit on him and just try to bear down and concentrate a little bit more and see what happens, ... That's all we can do. He has given us trouble, but hopefully this go-round we can do what we need to do.
Tony's one of the craftiest there is at trying to get the run in any way he can. Tony looks at the way a game is going and tries to create situations.
With experience, you learn how to house those emotions and focus on what you need to focus on, ... A lot of times you get too involved with outside forces instead of what you need to be worrying about.
Winning is an attitude. Winning is being able to go out to have a relentless attitude. Yeah, you can teach that. It is going to take a lot to understand. It is a group effort, not an individual effort. We have to try to embed that in their heads.
My first at-bat, my emotions were all over the place, ... So you really sit back and think about what was going on. . . . You learn over the course that it's all about how you can house those emotions.
One thing I've learned over the course is that, you know, go out there, do what you can do and hopefully you can open some eyes and somebody would want you to stay for a while,
I'm a little sore but it's crunch time so I'll definitely be out there.
Oh yeah, I felt the eyes, ... But that's not a bad thing. It's a good thing to be wanted.
New excitement, new situations, new challenges. It's easy for me to do that.
We're just glad we have it over. We have a big series coming up next. We're just going to take a little time off and get ourselves ready.
When he hit that ball, I didn't react. I didn't react, because I didn't know what to do. I couldn't believe he just did that. So I froze. I just froze.
