I was fairly decent, I could have done better. Jason Kidd came at me one time with that crossover and that's an extremely quick move. That's J-Kidd, he's been doing it all his life. I told him 'great move.' That's all I could say.
Joining the EA Sports team is a great way to cap off my college career. Growing up, I played EA Sports games all the time and to now be the spokesman for 'NCAA March Madness 06' is incredible.
I do want to play, I don't want to sit the bench. But if I don't start, Coach did that for a reason. I'm not going to complain about that. I'm going to be ready to play when my time is here.
I'm just trying to get everybody involved. I knew that we needed everybody in order to win the game. I was trying to get everybody involved, get everybody going, and that's what happened.
Everybody was getting very excited about our team (Latta High School) in the state championship. But I'd been hearing about her in the state championships. I had to see her. She's so small. She's got a lot of heart. She's not scared of anybody.
I'm not backing down from what I said, regardless of who says whatever about it,
I'm not backing down from what I said. I wasn't saying (it) to be bold or to be cocky. I was saying it because I have confidence in my team and my teammates. That's the mentality that I'm trying to bring to this team.
The lane just opened up. I made a cut and it all fell through. We fought so hard for this game. We were both fighting injuries. We had to get this one. There was no way we were going to fight this hard and not win this game.
We're going to be just fine next year. We're going to be a playoff team next year as long as we're healthy. There's no question in my mind about that.
We all dreamed about this moment, just to be able to give back to your mom and dad, ... We can never give back to them what they've given to us for all of our years. But just trying to start, just by telling your mom and dad they don't have to work if they don't want to, or take them home a brand new car, something they've never had, it's just a wonderful feeling.
Even though I said that to some kids, I wanted to say that anyway. So I'm kind of glad that it came out the way it came out. I don't back down from anything that I say.
There's no beef between us, ... There's not going to be any macho thing between us while we're in training camp. We're just coming into training camp trying to make our team better.
That's my man. He always told me: 'You're a winner,' and to always play with confidence when I go out there.
Sometimes the ball doesn't go into the basket. Tonight was one of those nights.
