The Patriots are a good team. They have Tom Brady and Deion Branch. It went to who wanted it more. Obviously, they wanted it more than we did.
They had a nice scheme. I'd say I was doubled or tripled 95 percent of the time. But we just have to keep coming back every week and try harder.
They had a nice scheme going. It was to be physical with me at the line, not let me get into my route. I was still getting into my routes, having a good time. I love playing the game of football, but we just didn't do enough to win.
They really don't know me, and I really don't know them. But one thing for sure that I try to leave them with is I am serious about my J-O-B. Once I retire and leave this game, that's what I want everybody to understand.
I think we really got too far ahead of ourselves, ... We've just got to be reeled back in.
Just to see him come out here and work with us every day, have the patience with us every day, it's exciting.
I'll beat you at 100, 200, 400, you name it,
If you're from Minnesota, you know why I'm here. Follow your story. They didn't sit down and explain it to me. I thought I'd finish my career there, but I guess it was just time for me to go. I guess they got tired of me, or whatever. I'm a Raider now.
I'm a country boy who hasn't really been exposed to city living, and it throws me.
Ain't nothing but 10 grand. What's 10 grand to me?
I try to have fun with the fans, try to have fun.
I had to get some things right in my personal life. And once I got my family on the same page, to understand who I am and what I do for a living, I asked my oldest daughter, 'What do you think about Daddy coming back?' And she said, 'I didn't think you were done. I want you to win the Super Bowl.'
I am a little older and understand the nature of the business - the older you get the more your skills supposedly diminish, but I think I am getting wiser in how to use my physical skills. That's the frustrating part when you put so much heart and desire into things and feel like you are not wanted.
If you're asking me where my heart and where I'm happy is, I love playing with Tom Brady. I love being coached by Bill Belichick.
