against ball good learn line physical running starting struggle takes
If we don't get more physical at the line of scrimmage, we're going to struggle running the ball. They're just starting to learn what it takes to really run the ball against a good defense.
advantage ball difference field good hard played position turning
I think we played hard and we had the opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them. When we had the ball with good field position after turning them over, we weren't able to come away with any points. That was really the difference in the game.
ball expect expectation good great happy keeps matter player red stop throws today turning
I expect him to be a great player and nothing less. When he doesn't live up to that expectation, I'm not a happy person. I'm not happy when he throws interceptions like he did today in the red zone. That has to stop if we're going to win. It doesn't matter how good he plays, if he keeps turning the ball over we're not going to win.
ball ran
They just ran the ball down our throats.
added both coming immediate maturity physically run tremendous year
With an added year of maturity, both physically and mentally, I would think Melvin would make an immediate impact. He can really run for a big guy, has tremendous acceleration coming off the edge.
credit fourth game took
We had the game in hand, and we have to give credit to Clemson. Really, I thought they took it took it to us in the fourth quarter, which disappoints me greatly.
bring close good happen josh last playing running table year
If we can get Lance playing even better than he did last year and Josh even close to what he was, I think we'd have two pretty good running backs. What Josh would bring to the table is he can go all the way. If we can get him back to that, we'll be in pretty good shape. I don't know if that will happen or not.
both came hit
I don't know who's better than those two guys. It was like dueling punters. Both of them hit it like it came out of a machine.
ahead good honestly searching
I can honestly say that I think we're ahead of where I thought we'd be at this point. I thought we'd still be searching at quarterback. Joel has had a good spring.
against defense game good pleased rushing
I was really pleased with the way our defense responded. We had a very very good game against a very good rushing offense. And we got some turnovers, which isn't something we have been doing lately.
beneficial gave hopefully time worried
I'm a little worried about our timing. It's not where it was before we went into it. But I think it gave us a little more time to prepare; they do some things that are pretty difficult. Hopefully that time will be beneficial to us.
areas bring couple days improve rest spend team tried trying
I have a young team that I'm trying to bring along, not only for this game, but for the rest of the season. We tried to spend a couple of those days on areas we thought we could improve on.
kids obviously schools success tougher
Obviously I would like to have more kids from the state. It's getting tougher because of the success we've had - there are more schools in here recruiting.
easier
Right now, it will probably be easier for Joel to come in than to start.
