And he strikes out a likeness for Us and forgets his own creation. Says he: Who will give life to the bones when they are rotten? / Say: He will give life to them Who brought them into existence at first, and He is cognizant of all creation / He Who has made for you the fire (to burn) from the green tree, so that with it you kindle (fire).
cattle dead good land life mercy news pure sends thereby water winds
And He it is Who sends the winds as good news before His mercy; and We send down pure water from the cloud, / That We may give life thereby to a dead land and give it for drink, out of what We have created, to cattle and many people.
direction follow gives guidance increases
And (as for) those who follow the right direction, He increases them in guidance and gives them their guarding (against evil).
except faith fight hostility justice oppression practice prevail until
And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppressions, and there prevail justice and Faith in Allah; but if they cease, let there be no hostility except to those who practice oppression
believe distant escape near possible regard seized shall unseen utter
And could you see when they shall become terrified, but (then) there shall be no escape and they shall be seized upon from a near place / And they shall say: We believe in it. And how shall the attaining (of faith) be possible to them from a distant place? / And they disbelieved in it before, and they utter conjectures with regard to the unseen from a distant place.
allah believed certainly evil guarded known reward themselves
And if they had believed and guarded themselves (against evil), reward from Allah would certainly have been better; had they but known (this).
ask believe evil guard idle life
The life of this world is only idle sport and play, and if you believe and guard (against evil) He will give you your rewards, and will not ask of you your possessions.
apostles appointed bring clear doubt fathers faults forgive heavens invites maker mortals therefore till turn wish
Their apostles said: Is there doubt about Allah, the Maker of the heavens and the earth? He invites you to forgive you your faults and to respite you till an appointed term. They said: You are nothing but mortals like us; you wish to turn us away from what our fathers used to worship; bring us therefore some clear authority.
altogether among prophet reminder sent shall turn
What! shall We then turn away the reminder from you altogether because you are an extravagant people? / And how many a prophet have We sent among the ancients.
afflicts defend great wrong
And those who, when great wrong afflicts them, defend themselves.
angry great shun sins whenever
And those who. shun the great sins and indecencies, and whenever they are angry they forgive.
allah besides help shall
And they shall have no friends to help them besides Allah; and-- whomsoever Allah makes err, he shall have no way.
call lord shall surely
And they shall call out: O Malik! let your Lord make an end of us. He shall say: Surely you shall tarry.
assign clearly
And they assign to Him a part of His servants; man, to be sure, is clearly ungrateful.
