I have greatly enjoyed my collaborations with Howard Shore, whose musical themes made immeasurable contributions to 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy, ... During the last few weeks, Howard and I came to realize that we had differing creative aspirations for the score of 'King Kong.' Rather than waste time arguing with a friend and trying to unify our points of view, we decided amicably to let another composer score the film. I'm looking forward to working with James Newton Howard, a composer whose work I've long admired, and I thank Howard Shore, whose talent is surpassed only by his graciousness.
It is a wonderful acknowledgment of what has been a six-year journey to make and release this first film in 'The Lord of the Rings' trilogy.
'The Lord of the Rings,' published in the mid-1950s, was intended as a prehistory to our own world. It was perceived by Tolkien to be a small but significant episode in a vast alternate mythology constructed entirely out of his own imagination.
I first read 'The Lord of the Rings' as an adolescent. It's a dense novel, a sprawling, complex monster of a book populated with a prolific number of characters caught up in a narrative structure that, frankly, does not lend itself to conventional storytelling.
If you take 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings' as books, one is written for children, and one is an adult's book.
I never dreamed in a million years that 'The Lord of the Rings' would be nominated for an Oscar. Those types of fantasy movies never got nominations.
Most directors prefer to direct everything themselves. I thought I could on Lord Of The Rings, but very quickly found out that the sheer scale prevented it.
When a documentary is being made, it usually focuses on the director or an actor. We felt that it would be more interesting to really dissect a film down to its smallest components.
We used a lot of computer technology, and I think New York looks pretty convincing. I think most people will think we got in a time machine and somehow shot it in New York in '33.
We just heard about this and we are working with our information technology experts to address this.
We are trying to get to the bottom of what is causing Adnan the problem,
But the mood in training is great and everybody looks forward to playing.
We might not always play well, but I can guarantee we will always give it 100 per cent and I don't know why some fans can't see that commitment.
We understand Robert's decision and wish him all the best in his future endeavors. He is about to complete a Masters Degree in Sports Management studies he has conducted outside football. It was always going to lead to a change in career direction at some stage,
