When you have cancer, you can define the trivial from the important very quickly.
There's only so much that criminal law and punishment can achieve.
We did a great job but the odds were against us,
That's the way Bobby Clarke played the game and I would suggest he was the only one of the 35 players that would have gone out and done that. But we looked at it as war.
We grew up very poor, and I hated being poor. I was the oldest of five kids, and I never got a pair of skates until I was nine. It was very difficult to get an education back then and play junior hockey.
You can say what you want about me, but don't mess with my wife.
Obviously, it was a defining moment for us as Canadians. I hear it every day, and it still is. It's never going to go away. We were voted the Team of the Century, and the goal was voted the sports moment of the century.
Obviously I look at it a little differently today,
I'm not nearly as important as I used to think I was. It's a wonderful discovery.
I think having the cancer allowed me to be able to freely talk about my faith.
I just refuse to worry or get upset or be fearful. It doesn't do one particle of good.
I have never been worried because when you have hope and peace, you can handle anything.
I get as much fan mail today and sign as many autographs as I did when I played. It's mind-boggling to a certain degree.
This community has done an incredible job. I can't believe it's only their second year. ... Bravo to the committee.
