This area was formerly used as a gift shop before the visitor center was built (in 2000).

They could put you in this if you were sick or dying with fever. It could also be used in the back of a wagon to transport a sick or wounded person.

They used maggots and leeches to eat bad flesh and leave the good flesh.
pain whiskey
If (patients) were lucky, they got whiskey (to deaden the pain). If not, they didn't get anything.
