Thích Nhất Hạnh; born as Nguyen Xuan Bao on October 11, 1926) is a Vietnamese Buddhist monk and peace activist. He lives in Plum Village in the Dordogne region in the south of France, travelling internationally to give retreats and talks. Compassion is a mind that removes the suffering that is present in the other.
If you are motivated by loving kindness and compassion, there are many ways to bring happiness to others right now, starting with kind speech.
Do not live with a vocation that is harmful to humans and nature. Do not invest in companies that deprive others of their chance to live. Select a vocation that helps realise your ideal of compassion.
Real peace is not in power, money, or weapons, but in deep inner peace.
By living deeply in the present moment we can understand the past better & prepare for a better future.
Happiness is the cessation of suffering.
Just listen Be peace.
To abandon the present in order to look for things in the future is to throw away the substance and hold onto the shadow.
Follow your breathing, dwell mindfully on your steps, and soon you will find your balance.
