I was very pleased with our defensive performance in the second half. I realize they were conservative, but I was really pleased with our run defense the entire game, especially with us being outsized.

It looks like they are going back to their roots as more of a power running team with some wishbone and option thrown in. This will definitely be a challenge for our run defense.

Not that I doubted it, but I feel a lot better about our chances to compete against every team we step on the field against after last week. We played a team that went two rounds deep in the playoffs that has had the same coach and system for 16 years. Our system was just four weeks old at that point.

We were a little concerned about Adam. We didn't want him to lose his confidence after the five interceptions last week. But with Chris and Brandon on the outside, it's hard to double them without weakening your defense in the middle.

No question this is a big game because, according to the preseason poll, this is one of the teams were supposed to be close to. This is probably going to be a game that's decided in the fourth quarter. If we can win, it will set us up with some momentum for the tough stretch we have ahead.

I think it took Adam until the second quarter to get comfortable. He may have been a little anxious and trying too hard early, but he is definitely the right guy for this program.
