When you pick that high in the draft, you need to have a difference-maker. On offense or defense, he needs to be a player who can help your football team for 10-plus years.
across area families gem gets hard needs roots
The whole area needs developed. It's been a long, hard road, but when this is completed, it should be a gem for the community. It gets to the roots of families across the county. It's the people's building.
add answer chain cut monday mornings needs saw trees woods
The Monday mornings now, they add up. I went through it myself. Definitely. That's why I think he needs to get away. I think he needs to go out in the woods with his chain saw and cut trees down and keep doing what he's doing. He needs to answer that question, because if it's not in here (his heart) then it's not going to be right for him and it's not going to be right for everybody.
glass half knows needs

business calculated care certain coaching everybody judged people presented style success understand work
I understand how success is judged and calculated in the coaching profession. That's really all I care about. You go about this business a certain way. Everybody has a certain style and opportunities that are presented to them during your career. When it's over, I'll be judged by that. I care more about the people I work with.

Preseason football is hard to evaluate. It's never going to be clean for the quarterbacks. You have to overcome the ugly plays and be productive. It's a component of leadership that is necessary. The guys that make it in the league survive that.

Really, I learned a long time ago that in the National Football League, paper doesn't mean anything. Football teams are created on the football field.

Big plays are such a huge factor in the outcome of games. It is so difficult to go the distance on a defense.

existed followed sack system taught worked
I worked at a place that followed a system where the quarterback was taught to take the sack rather than force the throw. That's kind of an old-school theory, but it has existed in this game.
bob candidates clearly confidence defense defensive definitely evident fact factors foundation four growing players playing season sensitive understanding watch week
I was very sensitive to the fact of going with four coordinators in four years in the past. As the week went on, I was able to watch more and more defensive film with the other candidates and with Bob and it was clearly evident that the defense was growing as the season went on. A foundation was built, you could see the defensive players playing with a lot more confidence and understanding of the scheme, so those were definitely factors in my decision.
