best couple execution fastball feeling felt good guess happy pitches threw top
I felt pretty good. That's always first and foremost. I was able to use all my pitches. Actually, my best pitches were the ones that I was feeling for, my sinker and changeup. I guess I wasn't getting on top of it. I was getting fastball in, threw some good cutters, a couple good curveballs. I was pretty happy with the execution of pitches and the way I felt.
arm balls curve feeling throw
I didn't throw any curve balls today. I didn't like the way my arm was feeling in warm-ups.
feeling longer relate seems
I know what he's going through, I can relate to him. I know the feeling of going out there and having a long season. It seems much longer than it really is.
feeling longer relate season seems
I know what he's going through, ... I can relate to him. I know that feeling, the feeling of going out and having a long season that seems much longer than it really is.
best days expect good hitting score shut teams
We've got a good offense. You can expect us to score runs. But there's going to be days where even the best hitting teams are going to get shut out.
ball ground looking
I got the ground ball I was looking for.
I'd like to see him back. I think he's come a long way as a manager,
believe both brings executing experience game knowing knows pitch selection worry
One thing he brings is the experience he has, knowing the hitters. He's been around, so he knows how to pitch them, ... Once we get in a game situation, we'll get a better idea of how we both work. But that'll take some time. But I believe he knows what he's doing. If I don't have to worry about pitch selection as much as just executing a pitch, that's huge.
home pitch wish
I wish I could pitch this well everywhere, ... especially at home this year.
change fight knowing side win winning
I think one win can change things. That's all it takes. It was a big win tonight, a fight to the end. Tomorrow, everybody's going to come in knowing we're on the winning side of things.
continue few improve matter pitch winning
I think we need to continue to improve because we're still young and I think we will. Now that we have a few years in, we know we can pitch at this level. Now, it's a matter of winning more at this level.
focus glad mentioned next
The 21-loss thing is probably always going to be mentioned next to my name, but I'm glad the focus is off of that.
challenge games happened lost managers whatever
For me, that's what I wanted to do. Sometimes managers won't let their players, for whatever reason. That's a challenge for him. For me, I'd already lost 20 games by this point. It happened well before the end of the year. It's not like I was down to one or two starts. It didn't come down to the wire.
awhile bit game good himself might pressure putting since time trying
He might have been putting a little bit of pressure on himself trying to do too much. For any pitcher, first time out there, you don't know what to expect, you're just trying to go out there and try and get a good feel for the mound, because it's been awhile since we've done it, especially in game atmosphere.
