everyday hitter jeremy leading
He'll get some but it's not going to be an everyday thing. I don't necessarily think that Jeremy is a leadoff hitter or we want him leading off.
aggressive base envelope gets good key lead pushes stealing
He's not the fastest, but he's a good, aggressive base runner. He gets a good lead and when he commits to stealing a base, he really commits. He pushes the envelope and that's the key to his success.
breath figured good lead protect sure time took
I figured it was as good as any. I figured if we couldn't protect a 10-run lead ... We got him out there, and I'm not sure he took a breath the whole time he was out there.
added bases earlier load rest run score sort
When you load the bases with no outs, you want to score more than one run. When we added Lopez's two to the run we got earlier that inning, it was sort of a springboard for the rest of the game.
anytime compliments dan few good phony rarely talks ultimate walks wilson worse
When I say Dan Wilson is one of the good guys, for me, that's the ultimate compliment. Very few of us, in all walks of life, rarely say and do the same thing. There's nothing phony about Dan Wilson. He talks the talk and walks the walk. Anytime someone like that leaves, we're all worse off for it.
albert charge coach lack level stayed sure
We had a coach who was with Albert at every level Albert went. He was Albert's babysitter, for lack of a better word. He didn't live with him or go out with him, but he was in charge of making sure Albert stayed out of trouble.
extra giving jamie starts winds
We're giving Jamie an extra day of rest. And this way it winds up giving him two starts at home.
add everybody happened runs supposed
To add the runs on is huge. You really couldn't write it up better than it happened tonight. Everybody is doing what they're supposed to do in the lineup.
chance gave ourselves patience
We gave ourselves a chance to come back. We had patience when it counted.
asked command flying guys terribly tried
You guys asked me before if he was awestruck with the Yankees, and I tried to downplay that. I don't know he was awestruck, but he was terribly excited. He was flying open. Bad. He couldn't find command of his pitches.
ball hit last
We hit the ball pretty decently today, but right at people. Just like last night.
hours medical people recover slept
We think he slept on it wrong, and sometimes that can take hours to recover from. At least that's what our medical people told me. Anyway, he's fine.
game gave given pitching result saw
We saw the result of him not pitching in a game for 14 days. Even given that, he gave up only two hits.
break closer desert duck finally last possible trying
You finally break through and at the last possible second. Then your closer comes in and you scuffle like a duck in the desert trying to get that win.
