At one point in the season we lost five straight games. I think at that point most people in the section thought we were done. We didn't pack it in. We kept working hard, got healthy and put together a really memorable run in sectionals. We equaled the most wins our program has ever had in sectionals.

We came out with our best offensive output of the year in the first quarter. We had a 12-0 run to open the game. From that point on it was a tight game. You've got to give a lot of credit to the kids from Odessa. They battled right to the end.

If you look at the season stats, we're about even (with opponents) in hits, but in earned runs we've actually allowed fewer. But we are way up in errors.

I've never seen a game like this. Well, not since I was like 10.
bring games hope playing ready reality streak sure
Sometimes when you get on a streak where you're playing well one of these games will bring you back to reality and get you back on track. I sure hope that's the case, because we did not look ready to play today.

We played hard. In the first game we really crushed the ball. But, give them (Capital) credit. Their pitcher (Levi Hannon) settled down over the last five innings, and they came back with their bats.

I wish we could have put them away a little earlier, but Santa Fe put up a fight, man. We never broke their spirit. They just kept coming at us with a lot of heart.

She's kind of spearheaded a real nice, balanced attack for us. Without that front-runner for us, it hurt a little bit. I think it stunned us for a couple of minutes.

Like I always say, defense wins games. Today once we settled down, we made a lot of big plays.
beat home kids last night played senior team time win
It was a big win for us. Here's a team we got beat by 20 last time. On senior night - it will be the last time we'll be at home - it was a big win. The kids played great.
