A lot of guys here didn't get a chance to play with Reggie or even get to know Reggie. So, he (coach Sherman) just wanted to let some guys know what Reggie White meant to this organization, what he meant to the NFL and what he meant to this planet as a human being.

I think we made the determination late in the season. There's an old expression: Rough seas make a great sea captain. I think we got to see the best of Sam in a very difficult time, and frankly, I was very impressed the way he handled the club on the field and in the clubhouse.
