huge hunt puts win winning
This win was huge for us. This puts us back in the hunt in the SEC and puts us back on the winning track.
defense game good hand looks solid
I thought early, we let Hand get some good looks with the 3. But I thought as the game progressed, we were able to take away the 3. Our perimeter defense has been pretty solid all year.
both covert early extremely forced game georgia quickness shot teams
I thought both teams started the game very intense. Georgia's athleticism and quickness on the perimeter really forced us into some early turnovers and Georgia was able to covert those turnovers into baskets. Georgia shot extremely well. We couldn't get anything started offensively.
certainly earn fact given gives motto progress year
It certainly gives us a lift. Our motto this year has been to earn respect. It's earned. It's never just given to you. It's just another way of validating the fact that we have made some progress at Kentucky.
fought harder players post
Some of our post players shied away. We've got to get tougher. They fought harder inside.
awhile feels good team
It feels good to be in this position. It's been awhile for Kentucky. This team is very deserving.
couple grown last players poise three
I think our players had a lot of poise down the stretch, which for the last couple of years we haven't had that. I think we've grown up a lot in the last two to three weeks.
game gets goes good great michigan ncaa road size state tougher zone
Michigan State has great size and a great perimeter game as well. They play a very good match-up zone defense. It's going to be a challenge, but that's why we play in the NCAA Tournament. When you get to this point, it gets tougher as the road goes on.
challenged chance fought good gotten players toughness win
We really showed a lot of toughness at the end of the game. I challenged our players when we were behind. We could have gotten down and folded when things weren't going our way, but we didn't do that. We fought back and had a good chance to win the game.
coaches huge image men message mirror moved office
That was a really huge statement. It's a mirror image of what the men have on their side. The administration moved out and the coaches moved in. It's not the office - it's the message that sent.
almost biggest head win
This is no question, the biggest win as head coach. It's unbelievable and almost surreal.
almost battling biggest came close head kept knew needed possession question stops win
This is no question the biggest win as a head coach. It's unbelievable and almost surreal. I knew if we kept battling and kept it close we had a chance. Our rebounding was there when we needed it and we got big stops when we needed it. It really came down to one possession and we got a stop.
great handled played pressure win
This is a great win for us. We played hard, we handled their pressure and we really rebounded well.
coming finished great handled kept knew played pressure proud since win won
This is a great win for us. We haven't won here since 2000, and I thought we played hard. We handled their pressure and we really rebounded well. We knew they wouldn't go away; they kept coming at us. I am very proud of the way we played and finished the game.
