I want to be put in the best situation for our defense to be successful. Whatever coverage area, I'll do it. If it's covering (USC tight end Dominique) Byrd, then I'll do it.

I was deep free safety, or I was strong safety in the box, or covering the slot, or outside covering. I was all over the place.
blitz breed cover field middle safety stay
I think it's kind of a new breed of safety. Safeties have to do more than just stay in the middle of the field and hit. Now, they have to cover and blitz and do it all, and that's what I like to do.

I started wearing them this summer. A lot of our defensive backs and receivers have them too. They've really helped me on the field as far as seeing things better.

Practice was great. We didn't know what to expect coming off of a few days of holiday rest, but everybody got out there with enthusiasm and intensity.

Sometimes he'd break into the open field, he'd try to give you a move and try to make you look bad, so it got intense. But if we hit Vince, we probably wouldn't play that Saturday. So we had to back off. Stay away.

Seeing us every day in practice, the chemistry and the way the team is, I feel we are.
Every day was intense. It just made me a better person on and off the field.
