moving makeup car
The makeup of the drivers has changed a lot with so many young drivers coming and a lot of the legends moving on. Compared to when I started, it's gone through a lot of changes. The cars have changed a lot and the approach to racing. There are a lot more employees. It's become a much bigger business and more corporate.
personality gone should
With my personality, I generally don't like change a lot. I reflect back on things quicker than I should at times. So it seems like it's gone by really quick. The older you get, the faster it seems to go by.
racing stay-calm trying
I really don't (stay calm) all the time. I just try to. Part of not just racing but in life, I try not to let the highs be too high and the lows be too low. I try to stay somewhere right in the middle. In racing it's not always easy to do. You can get too excited or overconfident when things are going good and it's easy to get too far in the ditch when things are going bad.
race long long-time
It’s been a long time since I’ve won a race in anything,
happy-life racing happy-with-my-life
I'm happier than I've ever been in life. Happy with my life outside of racing. Really happy with my life inside the garage.
regret perfect wish
I'm far from perfect. There's a lot of times you'll say something that you regret or do something that you regret and wish you wouldn't have said it or done it.
dream winning firsts
For me to win at New Hampshire, first of all, is more than a stretch and more than a dream. This is probably one of my worst places.
jobs winning race
You know, I was pretty comfortable where I was at. We had cars that could win races (at Roush). I know (Joe Gibbs Racing is) expecting me to perform and do my job. Before this year, I can't remember the last time I've ever been nervous at all inside of a race car.
thinking unfair penalties
I think the penalties are grossly unfair. I think it's borderline shameful.
bad people reactions
You've got personalities in people with reactions and emotions. That's what makes the sport so great, so I feel bad he got penalized at all.
point
It's a lot more than it's ever been. It's probably to the point where it's too much. But I don't know what to do about it.
