action good obligated signed
When I did the first one I only signed up for the first one 'cause I didn't want to be contractually obligated to do more than one if it wasn't a good experience. And, I'd never done an action movie and I was a little leery of the whole thing,
both
Our mannerisms were the same in that we both wanted to be really cowardly.
audience based dies fair fate hopefully line lives terry theatrical
I don't think it's fair to bemoan our fate, ... I think a movie lives or dies based on its own merit. If it doesn't find an audience in this theatrical release, hopefully down the line it'll be appreciated and Terry will be appreciated for what he's done.
definitely depending eight interest suddenly twice
That definitely helps. I think things can get magnified exponentially when you have two celebrities in a situation. Suddenly the interest it's not just like twice the interest, it's four, eight times depending on the celebrity.
bizarre call crazy energetic keys passionate people puzzle qualities
I think people call him crazy because he's really passionate and energetic and uncompromising, ... and those are qualities you don't really see a lot in Hollywood. It doesn't feel like this bizarre puzzle that only he has the keys to.
bad impossible somebody unlucky
I thought it would be impossible for somebody to get that unlucky again. I mean, so much went wrong; they had everything but locusts on 'Quixote,' it was really, really bad luck.
certain ideas kinds lead similar
Well, we have similar kinds of ideas about being the lead in a movie, and there are certain things we don't want to be.
admitted choice johnny miramax weird
He admitted Miramax wouldn't make the film with Johnny and that I was their choice. They thought Johnny was too weird and didn't have any box-office clout.
walking
I feel like Buckner walking back into Shea.
character interesting bigger
Generally, the bigger the budget, the less interesting the characters become.
kids water age
We live in a world, it's very hard for Americans to understand that every 20 seconds a kid dies, a kid under the age of five, right, dies somewhere on the Earth because of lack of access to clean water and sanitation. Every 20 seconds that happens on our planet. It's just very hard for us to relate to.
running writing kids
I've gotten much better at multi-tasking. It's hard, though. But, writing a script is not totally focused. You're taking little breaks, all the time. If a kid runs in, you give 'em a horsey ride. It's a pretty fluid process.
moving people directors
There are people who just collect a bunch of footage and then edit it later. You definitely feel more protected when a director is moving on when you've actually felt something happen and you know they're watching intently.
real moving eye
Before the days of video village a director should stand right next to the camera, look with his naked eye and if he sees something that is real to him, he'd look up at the [camera] operator and if he gives the look to indicate he'd seen it to, then you print and you'd move on.
