The only time we got away from that and gave them easy baskets is when we were inefficient on offense. We were a little bit soft with the ball and that lead to some easy breakouts for them.

We showed a lot of poise and composure. After we got down 10 after the first five minutes, I thought our composure was as good as it's been since I've been here.

We were nervous to start the game, but once we settled down a little bit, we were able to go on a little run. But we knew SIUE would close the gap. We knew it was going to come right down to the wire.

I was so proud of our defensive effort tonight. I thought that was the key to the game. We had to slow down their motion offense, get to their shooters and control the glass. I was pleased with how we executed our game plan.

It really didn't matter to me who we played. It's obviously a lot easier to prepare for a team you've already played three times.

Once we settled down, we played our style of basketball, but for the first 10 minutes it was pretty shaky. I was very proud of my team because they showed the pride and composure.
