Our run was a great answer to their run. This is something that has plagued us all year. We would have a halftime lead and find a way to squander it away and then struggle in the second half to get it back. I think when we switched defenses was a big factor, and we also just stuck some shots when it counted.

Ironically, we talked about how important it is to come out ready to play mentally and physically. We were just extremely soft that entire first half. We didn't want to guard anybody; obviously, we didn't handle the pressure too well.

For the life of me, I'm at my wit's end trying to figure out how to get this team to play hard for 40 minutes. Against BG, we had a great first half and sucked the second half; against these guys, we sucked the first half and had a great second half, but not great enough. We've got a lot of players who just want to participate and don't want to compete.

I can't be prouder of my team's accomplishment. We had nothing to play for and Western Michigan is a pretty good team.

I'm really at a bit of a loss with this team right now. I thought we played a tad better in the second half, but we don't need a tad better - you need to play a lot better. We had a couple chances to get back into the game, but we couldn't convert enough and get enough stops.
