A couple corporate customers of the league . . . were uncomfortable with the appearance of some players. Since the teams couldn't deal with it, they had asked the league to step in and deal with it.
It's just connecting with fans and lets them know we recognize that they're responsible for paying all the bills. It's not meant to be a league thing. It's a Dallas Maverick thing.
We saw it and are on it. We will send it into the league and I'm sure he will be suspended.
He is creating a situation that doesn't exist. Maybe he should request that the league release results of officials' performance evaluations so fans, players and owners can see how wonderful a job they actually do. The officials do a good job overall. This would be his opportunity to confirm it to all.
By the way everybody reacted, everybody knew there was a problem except for the official who got pushed. I'm sure the league will take appropriate action after reviewing it. That's a huge play in this game to have a no-call.
The league handles officiating in a far more professional manner than prior to my arrival. They approach it like a real business unit now.
We both went to school at Indiana University and we were big basketball fans. Living in Dallas, there was no way to listen to our favorite Hoosiers.
